Interested in learning to fly, or simply want to experience the thrill of flying in, and even taking the controls of, a light aircraft? For yourself or as a gift.
Trial Lessons

Trial flights consist of a chat/briefing with your instructor, who will explain how the controls work and what will happen during the flight. This is followed by the flight in a Cessna 152 where we get you doing as much of the flying as possible (understandably the instructor will do the take-off and landing). After your flight there will be an opportunity to ask questions if you wish.

This lesson will count towards your licence if you decide to continue.

To make your gift extra special we offer a booklet which explains what the introductory lesson is all about and some basic information on how the aircraft flies (see price guide).

Scenic Flights
We use a four seat Cessna 172 Aeroplane

We can fly up to three passengers on scenic flights. The duration of the flight and where the flight goes is the customer's choice. The shortest flight is 15 minutes, around either Cheltenham or Gloucester. The longest flight would be about 2 hours. Charges are per flight, not per person.

Vouchers

All of the above can be purchased as personalised vouchers which can be given for a special occasion. The flight can be booked for any convenient time except Mondays. Vouchers can be purchased by telephone or by visiting the school. We accept cash, cheques and credit & debit cards. You can also order by post with a cheque (payable to "Staverton Flying School" for aeroplane lessons or "Patriot Aviation" for helicopter lessons). If ordering by post please include:-

  The type of voucher required;

  Whether you require a booklet;

  The name of the recipient as it should appear on the voucher;

  Your name and address (for return of the voucher), plus a daytime phone number in case of queries.

We will send the voucher (see price guide), booklet if requested, plus some general information as relevant to the type of flight, to you by return of post with details of our facilities and how to find us.

Other Information

Longer flights are available. Please contact us for details.

Please note that for your safety and comfort, height and weight restrictions apply to certain types of aircraft. If you are more than 6 feet 4 inches tall or weigh more than 15 stones please mention this when making your booking as Aeroplane trial lessons and PPL training will then be conducted in the Cessna 172 (normally in a Cessna 152).
