IMC Rating

This rating will allow you to fly in IMC (in cloud or low visibility) conditions in the UK only.

You will need least 15 hours training of instrument flying with an instructor in a suitably equipped dual control aeroplane. The course covers instrument Attitude Flight on full and partial panel, Radio Navigation Aids, Let Down and Approach Procedures and Bad Weather Circuits. There is also a written exam; tuition for this is covered by ground school.

The total hours required will vary depending on the student's experience and aptitude.

Night Rating

Training for this qualification will allow you to do exactly what it says - fly at night. You will need 5 hours overall night training in an aeroplane to include 3 hours dual training (1 hour to be a dual navigation) and 5 take off and full stop landings at night as PIC.

Radio Navigation

This is a useful course for those of you who hold a UK CAA PPL, or are recently qualified JAA PPLs. We offer a short, simple VFR Radio Navigation course, approx 3 hours ground school and 3 hours flying. It will enable you to use the aircrafts' radio navigational equipment effectively and safely.

Radio Telephony Licence

Training and exam: We offer a training course using the latest CAA approved computer course. There are practice routes for you to do with an instructor and when you are up to standard you can take the exam here.
